What Photo Editing App Is The Best?

The most popular question I see asked by beginner photographers is what is the best photo editing app? While there are a lot of great apps out there on the market, there are a couple questions you should ask yourself when you are looking for them:

The first and most important question you should ask yourself is, are you getting into photography to eventually start a business? Like, are you really wanting to take yourself seriously from the start of your photography career? If you answer yes to that, then looking into photo editing apps on your smart device is not the way to go.

I know a lot of you won’t agree with me and that is completely fine. But take it from someone that has been in this business for over 20 years. Investing in yourself and your skills is one thing that will stand out to your potential clients.

Since I have been in this business for so long, I am a bit biased to Photoshop and Lightroom. For $9.99 a month you get Lightroom AND Photoshop. You can check it out for free for 7 days and see what you think. They also have a mobile app for Lightroom.

If you just aren’t sure if you really want to get into photography as a career, or you do know for a fact that you just like it as a hobby, then yes, by all means, check out the list below.

If you do want to dip your toe in a little just learn how to take better photos, then you should definitely check out my eBook, Photography Basics 101. I don’t take you out of auto mode. These are just lessons about the very basic and simple fundamentals of photography that anyone, even hobbyists, should learn about to take better photos. All of these suggestions are just that, suggestions. Just like with cameras, editing programs can be personal preference. Try them out and see what you think. I would love to hear your opinions in the comments below.
